This post brought to you by Toms of Maine. All opinions are 100% mine.
I am the first to admit that I have poor oral hygiene. It is a terrible thing and I recognize it. However, the lessons and habits that I should have had from childhood were never instilled in me. I am trying to create good habits.
Tom’s Of Maine has a series of products that are natural products. In a world where consumers are becoming more and more eco-friendly, it is sometimes difficult to find companies that are doing it well. One of my favorite key points is that they do not do animal testing. While I am far from one of those animal right’s activists that stand in protest outside of businesses, I try to make a conscious effort to buy products that do not test on animals. Finding such products that don’t taste completely foul goes a long way toward my goal of creating better habits for myself.
That’s Wicked Fresh contest page is running an event where you can win a $500 gift card to Target. There are several ways to enter so it’s totally worth a shot. My own Wicked Fresh memory is simply that first kiss shared right after a good teeth brushing. It’s just a moment of “Mm!” that I adored. You can follow Tom’s of Maine on Facebook and/or follow them on Twitter @TomsofMaine. I can’t wait to try out their other products. Who knows? Maybe I’ve just found my new go-to company.

Enough with the lies. I’m not fine. But I’m getting there. I just don’t want to write right now.
See you in 2011. Maybe I can make some things happen.

You can’t make me turn 28! I will lie through my teeth if asked!
Okay, not really. It’s just another year. Another year behind me. Another year before me. I’m not obsessed with my birthday. In fact, it’s almost an annoyance. All these people come out of the woodwork on Facebook to post on my wall because they got the notification that it was my birthday today. People I haven’t even talked to in years. Really? And the phone calls! Don’t even get me started. I’m not a person who enjoys talking on the phone on a normal day. My dad is the only person I enjoy talking to. I just don’t want to be answering the phone in some fake cheerful tone and deal with the small talk, giggle cutely, and thank them for the birthday wishes. If you really want to acknowledge my birthday and you have my number, a text is sufficient.
The only people who get away with not doing this are those who don’t have a cellphone. I believe that number is in the range of… 2. My grandparents.
But, really, the novelty of birthdays wore off a long time ago.
On another note, I got the birthday package from my dad yesterday. He had individually wrapped each gift and everything went into a box with packing peanuts. So cute! I got…
Chocolate kisses (yum! And they survived! O__o)
Atomic fireballs (um, thanks? Dad thought I liked them lol)
fluffy Holiday socks
fluffy PURPLE SOCKS
a purple Game Boy Color
Pokemon Red
Donky Kong
Yay! I can play Pokemon now!
Do you like how I categorized my birthday as a holiday?

This was a no-brainer. I was introduced to Supernatural just before the second season began. I caught a glimpse of it and then was waiting desperately for the first season to come out on DVD so that I could watch it before the second season premiered.
I watched the entire first season in three nights.
I was immediately hooked and was only dragged in further as the second season progressed. I’ve had a thing for Jensen Ackles, which is what drew my attention at first, but it was the writing that kept me coming back. Oh, sure, I could listen to Jensen-as-Dean talk and talk away or even just stand there and look pretty. But the writers were what brought me back week after week. There seemed to be a good balance of humorous episodes versus the dramatic ones. Nothing was ever too light or too weird or too dark. Even the sporadic very-focused episodes that broke the mold I just gave as an example were specifically placed and I never felt like the series was moving… wrong.
Now, I’m not a horror fan. In fact, it’s one of the few genres that I just do not like. I do not like being made to jump. I wind up being on edge when I know something is approaching and it is never a pleasant experience for me. But this series isn’t about the horror. There have been episodes (My Bloody Valentine, s5e14) that actually made me ill with the gore but even it wasn’t about the gore. There was humor! Dean pushing a human heart at his brother, grinning stupidly, and asking Sam to be his Valentine? The Cupid? You just can’t beat that.
This season is the sixth and final season. I will be sad to see it go.
